It supports the following wireless protocols: 802.11ac, 802.11n, 802.11g, 802.11b

Here is a link to the wireless gateway provided for my AT&T Fiber network: https://www.amazon.com/BGW210-700-802-11b-Wireless-Gateway-REQUIRED/dp/B07BZC72TB

Check this out.

I’m not sure why anyone would buy one or how in the hell amazon is even selling them. Att charges a fee for the gateway and there’s no way to get around it.

This is the device provided by AT&T. https://www.amazon.com/BGW210-700-802-11b-Wireless-Gateway-REQUIRED/dp/B07BZC72TB

The connection in the house is the image here: https://michaelkummer-com.exactdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/att_gigapower_ont-451x600.jpg?strip=all&lossy=1&ssl=1

From this article: https://michaelkummer.com/tech/att-fiber-vs-comcast/. But mine has an access cover over the cables that I didn't know could be removed until a few minutes ago.

I have this router sitting at home doing nothing https://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/wifi-routers/R6300.aspx

If I understand correctly, I could leave the AT&T RG in the basement with the normal wifi and then through the wired ethernet of the house, put the Netgear R6300 in the living room where the signal is weak.

Would the Netgear R6300 require a different password?

Thanks for all your help.

Based on everything I've come up with at the time of reading your reply, I'm probably in the market for a Cat6 or higher cable.

Just checked the modem from the ISP, it looks like it also supports 1000BASE-T which tells me that getting anything higher than Cat5e would be a waste.
