Off topic, but some good reading, " Auschwitz: A New History"
Hitler wasn't very hands on about the Holocaust. He spoke about ridding Europe of Jews and his underlings basically interpreted that as mass relocation and it progressed from there. Heinrich Himmler was the engineer of the Holocaust and it's his leadership and ideas that are directly responsible for what happened in Europe.
Auschwitz: A New History by Laurence Rees and We Wish To Inform You That Tomorrow We Will Be Killed With Our Families by Philip Gourevitch were both very difficult to read.
