ARRIS SURFboard SB6141 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem (http://www.amazon.com/ARRIS-SURFboard-SB6141-DOCSIS-Cable/dp/B00AJHDZSI/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1449637378&sr=1-1&keywords=motorola+modem) given to me by the Comcast Technician when they came to install the cabling for the internet and a Belkin N450 Wireless Dual-Band N+ Router (http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Wireless-Dual-Band-Router-Generation/dp/B005CUVPMK/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1449637276&sr=1-4&keywords=belkin+router) that We have bought over a year ago.

They just told me that sending the technician to check would cost 40 dollars, regardless if the issue is on my side or theirs (They probably think that it's on my side because their tests came up negative)

hey Worcester-- I just moved here a month ago and just barely missed out on a deal of $29.99 /mo for just internet through Charter. I've signed up for Charter's service at $39.99 /mo in a 12 month contract. Charter and Dish are the two main options for the reigon...here's my /r/worcesterma post from when I was reasearching the options. I also found out about Cyberonic, which is a Worcester based ISP for businesses, but that's not really an option for somebody who just watches Netflix/HBOGo and casually browses reddit.

Once you pull the trigger and get on a plan with Charter, I would suggest buying a $20-40 belkin router on amazon instead of paying a $5 per month renting a router from Charter. That way you own the hardware and can keep it when you move, or sell it if you want to upgrade.

Do you need cable TV? Do you need a land line? If you don't need both, I wouldn't bother with the bundle 'deal'-- just watch your shows online, with friends at another house, or at a bar/hangout.

Reduce your budget and mix it up for a change.

I didn't have TV junior year of College and it drastically improved my motivation to ski, practice hobbies, see live music and do really fun, frugal things around Burlington, VT. My grades stayed the same, but pretty much everything else benefited.
