A 20" children's bike on a trainer like this one should work pretty reasonable. Fit a nice comfortable seat on it.

Also, for losing weight, eating fewer calories and changing the diet will do a lot more than biking.

>The budget is about 350-450

Don't get any bike with a front shock. All of these hybrid/comfort bikes come with cheap shit shocks that will break within 200 miles or less.

That Mercier looks pretty good. It will be hard to balance that bike on a roller trainer, but I don't see an issue with putting it on a trainer that retains the rear wheel.

With bikes like the Fuji, if she's fat she will have problems with the lower hand position.

I think this one must be different in some way, because when I bought it, it was only $40. But maybe I got in on some sort of sale or something. But it looks the same, same label and all (I'm not a bike trainer expert).

2 is a very good idea. I used one when I fractured my ankle running, but still wanted to exercise.

here is an example (idk if it's a good one though).

ninja edit: According to my dad, the best ones have a fluid-based module for providing the resistance, rather than a belt or magnetic one.

Hi!

I have what I think is an old cannondale CX 9 that has disk brakes.

I have also have an old trainer that is supposed to work with disk brakes but I cannot figure it out. The guides I googled online for fitting a disk brake bike into the trainer says it should be simple and use instructions like, put wheels into trainer, lock them in place, etc.

The whole, draw a circle, then draw the rest of the owl type instructions.

For instances, this youtube video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Klwb7GGUyRU

One moment theres a rod in the middle of the trainer and the next a bike is on it?

Is there something I am missing? Is it supposed to be that easy?

My trainer:

I've been looking as well, this Bell trainer (80$) has been mentioned a few times as the best value. Looking for something used would probably be a good way to go too.

A couple others that are close in price:
Forza F2 Mag
Blackburn Trakstand Mag 3

If you already own a bicycle, you could get a trainer off of amazon like this

Then you can use the bike by itself normally and when you want to use it inside it's easy to set up and saves tons of space vs a recumbent.

I use one myself.

$79.99 isn't too bad.

Also, how did you make studded tires using sheet metal screws? That sounds like an accident waiting to happen.
