I agree. I've used lead remover cloth to get the burns/fouling off of my stainless steel Ruger GP100. This was the only product that seemed to really do anything. Sometimes it takes a bit of effort, but it always does the trick.

This is a thing that happens to all revolvers. It is carbon fouling, and it is much more difficult to remove than regular powder residue. The cylinder face will also be black with it, I can assure you.

Fortunately, it isn't hard to remove if you have the right stuff. It is only hard to remove if you're relying on a regular gun cleaning solvent.

The Birchwood Casey Lead Remover and polishing cloth will take it right out. Just hit it with the bronze brush a bit then use the cloth and some elbow grease. I have to do this after any session shooting my stainless revolvers.

I use a birchwood casey lead remover

But I think they are all the same

You can also use flitz, Hoppes 9 and a brass brush or a few other ways to scrub them off but I find the Lead remover cloths are the easiest method. Be careful using a scotchbrite pad as another user suggested unless you gun is Matte finish it will end up matte finish wherever the scotchbrite pad gets rubbed.
