Brooks has a ps4/ps3 to ps2 adaptor allows you to play wirelessly using the controllers from the ps3/ps4 once you pair it with the adaptor so not only regular dualshock 4/3 but even arcade sticks and steering wheels with rumble supported i believe https://www.amazon.com/Gam3Gear-Adapter-Controller-Converter-Keychain/dp/B07543W7XS/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_4?keywords=brooks+ps4%2Fps3+to+ps2&qid=1555216692&s=gateway&sr=8-4-fkmrnull

There's a ps4 to ps2 adapter you can get. In my opinion it's the best wireless controller option you can get. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07543W7XS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_3.3PDbYGWDXT6

PSA: You could also grab DS3/DS4 to DS2 adapters.

This way you can enjoy using other official Sony controllers with the PS2. Mine works flawlessly. Here's a video review, not made by me.

I use a Wireless Ps3 Controller(can be Ps4) [using this adapter] (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07543W7XS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_L3TSDbB59ZDW2)

It's a little pricey, but much better than dealing with that crappy Logitech Controller. I think it's worth it considering it's a one time purchase.

One of the recommended brands I saw in the past were Katana controllers. I'm not sure if there's a wired version, but Logitech made pretty good wireless PS2 controllers. You could also invest in a Brooks adapter and use with a PS3 controller since that's still pretty close the older DualShock controller designs and you can still find brand new ones fairly easily.

So this is pretty awesome. Lets you use dual shock 3s on ps2.

>I am currently having difficulty getting in to trails in the sky. I think it is mainly due to me being spoiled by most games working out of the box with the PS4 controller and I am stuck with point and click mouse controls (which aren't actually that bad).

Didn't know there are problems with controller compatibility. If you are OK with spending a bit of additional money, there are adapters for all sorts of controllers by the Taiwanese company Brook that (even though designed to connect a DS4 to a PS2 for instance) also work on PC. That's the one I'm using on my PC (though primarily bought for my PS2). I've tested SC and 3rd with it and it works like a charm. Since they have internal Bluetooth they instantly connect to your controller wirelessly. I can also recommend the PS3 to PS4 adapter by the same company. Here a link to their hompage. All adapter models seem to work on PC as well. I'd just recommend buying the adapter for the specific console you would like to use a DS4 (or DS3) on and use the PC compatibility as a bonus.

Edit: For some reason the Switch one doesn't have Bluetooth though. For that I recommend the Mayflash which should also work on PC like the Brook adapters (haven't tested PC functionality, I may test it when I get back from work today if you want, since I use one of these on my Switch). That one has Bluetooth.

Not really sure this is what you're asking, but you can buy a PS3/PS4 wireless adapter for the PS2.
