I use this one and it works just fine. It even works well while its attached and Im walking around the prairie shooting prairie dogs.
I have this Caldwell brass catcher. I've only used it once and wasn't super happy with it, but I think it's because I just slapped it on without making much of an effort. It holds about 30 casings, but I'd go with the Pic rail one because it has a larger opening
Could you link one of those that you are looking at? I think the ones you're looking at are of the same design of the one I own and I thought the same thing you did before buying it. I have a Caldwell and it uses a pretty heavy velcro srap that goes around the handguard then has a heavy wire frame that holds the mesh over your ejection port. it doesn't actually come in contact with either the shell deflector or dust cover, it just looks like it does.
use a brass catcher next time
An easier solution is to just attach some sort of brass catcher.
This is a cheap example, though somewhat bulky.
Using a subsonic round might help? Action cycling slower less velocity for the brass to eject. a product similar to https://www.amazon.com/Caldwell-122231-Brass-Catcher/dp/B004SKCUME might help as well.
There are better ones, but this is cheap and pretty much universal
