Sure. The first house represents the physical body and its ability to produce and maintain a constant state of health. The sign on the Ascendant, planets aspecting it, and planets located within the first house all have a part to play in shaping the body and either reinforcing or undermining the health it's supposed to produce.

It's a pretty standard utilization of the first house that's consistent within the tradition.
