"Before blister" tape isn't really manufactured for that use, I just use any tape that sticks well. You should check beforehand if a tape works for you because all feet are different. I even tried to buy the same tape once and it was somehow still different and not much use. Leukotape and 3M micropore are just 2 that have worked for me before but I think even with that name there's a bunch of different ones.

Now Compeed (like this), that's where the magic's at. You carefully apply it on top of any evil painful blister and just forget it.

You just use them like normal plasters but they help blisters heal faster which is a bonus, and they relieve the pain. They're available in multiple sizes, they're self adhesive. The company does a whole range of plasters for everything from blisters to bunions. In the UK you can get them from most supermarkets and chemists, I assume there are similar things sold in drugstores in the US
