I got a few chunks of each and cut them to size as needed. The same sealant you would use to hold the tank together will work for attaching it to the glass, but I've found that gorilla glue works best when attaching the porous surfaces of the cork pieces together (as long as you give it at least 7-14 days to cure before submerging in water).

And to give a little more detail on the hardscape down below, I found some really neat looking sandstone rocks near and abandoned quarry near where I live in addition to random pieces of driftwood. I also did a 4 to 1 mixture of ada Amazonia soil and Colorado sand, which helps keep the slope more stable along with some cut up pieces of corrugated plastic which I used to make a bit of a terrace. And right now I have a little water basin in the sandy corner so I can suck out any excess water from the misters with a turkey baster lol.
