I've ordered all the parts to my computer and assembled them together. However, the LED light that indicates there is an error in my RAM is still blinking. My motherboard is the following:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K2MAU5Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

At first, I ordered this RAM:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0058J1Q7O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

After receiving the motherboard manual, I looked at the list of compatible ram and ordered: http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-Desktop-Memory-CML8GX3M2A1600C9/dp/B00569K7LM/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416861921&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=corsair+vengeance+cml8gx3m2a1600c9+version+7.12

I am still receiving the LED light that indicates my RAM is not compatible or installed incorrectly. I have noticed that the list in my motherboard says Version 7.12, but the version of the ram I have is 5.20, although the part numbers are identical. Will this effect compatibility?

Get Corsair but not the one you linked, look for low profile RAM so if you decide to install another heatsink, it will not be limited by needlessly tall heatspreaders on the RAM.

I would personally go with Corsair just for peace of mind. Their customer service is incredibly good and you can find a few posts on this subreddit that support this.

I have this mobo that supports DDR3 memory

https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z97%20Extreme3/index.us.asp?cat=Download&os=BIOS#BIOS

I currently have this RAM

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00569K7LM/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I bought new RAM to add

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008LTJJM2/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

But my PC wont even boot. I have my PC connected to my TV so it just says HDMI source not found or something

After removing the new RAM my PC booted like normal

What do I need to do to make the RAM work?

Here is my current setup with my old RAM

Can you guys help me fix this?
I have 1600mhz ram but it shows up as 1333mhz.

I recommend this

u/d0ggzilla · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

You might want to get low profile ram too, since the fans on those coolers can hang over the ram slots.

It might be better to have 2 sticks of 4GB RAM, then it's dual channel (I think that's right). This Corsair LP Vengeance is good, only a few quid more but should improve performance.

Also yeah lower the PSU wattage, I have a 600w Corsair PSU in my build and I should have less power draw since I only have a GTX 760 GPU.

u/clupean · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Newer RAM.
The price for that monitor is wrong, for 151.37€ you get 23".

u/PowerTattie · 2 pointsr/Tribes

tribes DOES perform better with NVIDIA, id recommend going for a 760 for the best value for your money.

Regarding cpu, an i5 will do the job fine. Hell, there are still people who use the 2500k and get very, very good performance with it.

For ram, 8gb @1600mhz will do fine. Corsair Vengeance has been around for a while but does the job nicely, and is solid entry level ram. (make sure you get the low profile / lp version to prevent any clearance issues with your cpu cooler)

u/AmansRevenger · 1 pointr/buildapc

thanks :) Can I add another?

I tried to get my RAM to 1600 mHz (my current RAM SHOULD Support it, but as soon as I try to set the clock to 1600, it wont boot and after 5 failed boot attempts, resets the BIOS.

Any guide or help here?

u/Ritz527 · 1 pointr/buildapc

You don't necessarily need 16GB of RAM. You could cut back to 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance Low Profiles and save about $60.

Or get a single 8GB stick and upgrade later.

I was originally thinking of a Razer! Cheers bud, it means a lot to have a bit of help!

I'm not sure about the monitor I might just get this one (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dell-Ultrasharp-U2312HM-inch-Monitor/dp/B005MHMFJA/ref=cm_lmf_tit_13_rdssss0) and then I can have everything delivered by amazon with my discounts ;)

I've been doing some research into the PhysX and you speak a lot of truth, £30 isnt a lot at all to moan about haha

Funny enough I play the games on console, never had a gaming pc in my life - I hope I like playing keyboard and mouse!!

Dude of course I will send you pictures! I can't wait myself, I'm going away to the UK for 10 days tomorrow so I hope it'll all arrive while I'm away. I'll let you know when I've finished!

Let me know when you're set up as well - if you make a steam account I'll gift you a game or just message me you details and I can amazon you something you've been a great help and a really funny guy.

Before I go and buy this beast: the RAM you put isn't in stock direct so do you reckon this one will be okay? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CML8GX3M2A1600C9-Vengeance-1600MHz-Memory/dp/B00569K7LM

u/Nuce · 1 pointr/hardwareswap

How will this mesh with my current RAM?

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00569K7LM/?tag=pcpapi-20

I know that CAS matching is something to look for. Don't really want to drop 110 bucks if I am going to error out :/

u/FirstSin · 1 pointr/buildapc

Nice build, how's the RAM? i was debating on buying the same one or the corsair vengeance low profile ones. Thoughts?

u/ChickenDenders · 1 pointr/buildapc

I had similar RAM in my system (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007BEJ5EA/?tag=pcpapi-20), and wanted to add some more. I added a pair of these (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00569K7LM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and my system would not boot with them both installed. I'm not really sure why.

u/xXStrongarm · 1 pointr/buildapc

So as opposed to the link in the first comment, would the RAM linked below work better considering it is both low-profile and has the same cas latency/timing?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00569K7LM/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2CYY6CNUNYDAC&coliid=I3NZ71ZYNHII6Y

edit: also, I don't know if the fact that the Corsair RAM I linked isn't specified as being Dual channel while the G.Skill RAM I currently have is dual channel and is installed on my Mobo as such

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/buildapc

I would say it's worth it. I regret not getting a smaller case, it would be a lot easier to move around and will also look a lot nicer in my opinion.

You can find the op's motherboard here. The i5 will be fine if you aren't overclocking.
I would not recommend the Octane SSD though. Try and stretch a little bit for a Crucial M4 or Samsung 830. They should be about £20 more (ish).

The ram you have chosen is 1.65v, you will want 1.5v for ivy bridge motherboards/processors. Here is a link to the ram in the original post and will be fine for your build!

u/FUCK_YOU_OBRIEN · 1 pointr/hardwareswap

I wish I had 16 to offer, but I can give you 4x2 of these for $40 plus shipping if you are interested. I used them for about 10 months with no problems.

u/ajc1239 · 1 pointr/computers

You're running DDR3 memory, meaning you'll need to buy DDR3 or it wont fit.

[This] (https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-2x4GB-Desktop-Memory/dp/B00569K7LM/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1488067178&sr=1-1&keywords=4x2+ddr3) Corsair memory is a good option, and not terribly expensive. The speed/CAS timing may be off but (someone correct me if I'm wrong) it isn't a huge deal if it is.

u/EggheadDash · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I have a PC that is currently running 8GB of this RAM. I want to buy some more and did some searching on Amazon and found 16GB of this for $20 more. So I could either buy a second set of the first and have 16GB total or the second and have 24GB total. However I noticed the timings were different. Is this an issue?

u/Euron_Naharis · 1 pointr/buildapc

Alright, I found the same ram on amazon for £67. AIO might be out of my budget. Could a £50 air cooler be noticeably better than an Evo 212 or should I go for a PSU?

u/DoctorWaluigiTime · 1 pointr/buildapc

Found these for $57 (I think they have higher timings, whatever that is, but still 1600), and a Corsair pair for $37 (although I don't know how those compare specs-wise). Thoughts?

u/denusmushemtogeva · 1 pointr/buildapc

It's because of the floods in Thailand that they're so high, a lot of Hard drives got drowned in a factory or something. Brings tears to my eyes. ;(

This is great man, thank you so much - and thanks for all the quick replies!

What I think I'm going to do tonight is buy everything that I'm set and sure on (and all the parts that are currently on sale - don't want to lose a good deal), and buy the remaining things; GPU, HDD and case - at a later date (probably within the next week).

Just a final check that this will all work together, before I hit 'buy' -

CPU

CPU cooler

Motherboard

Memory

PSU

And all that costs ~£400, leaving me with ~£400 or £450 for the GPU, HDD and case. Rather happy with that! :D

u/aManPerson · 1 pointr/buildapc

well what motherboard is it going in? what cpu and gpu do you have? faster ram can help with both fps and general computing stuff (like zipping 17 archives at once). i take it you mean this ram?

http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-Desktop-Memory-CML8GX3M2A1600C9/dp/B00569K7LM

if you are asking about gaming (without knowing what you have already) you should probably only worry about ram after your GPU and CPU are great.
