Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000 - NEW @ £119.97 on Amazon.

I would say its worth closer to £100-110.

Assuming that you're building a Ryzen-based computer for the girlfriend, you should get a 2x8GB kit at 3000MHz (not 2400MHz) by Corsair instead as that particular CPU architecture really needs fast RAM to perform well.

Thank you all. I just checked the QVL for mobo and i don't understand why Corsair CMK16GX4M2D3000C16W isn't supported but Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3000C15W is. They look like the same product offering the same specs but the 4M2D is £15 cheaper. What's the difference? I'm also kind of on a budget so how much improvement would the nitro be compared to the msi? would a 4gb version of the nitro at £167 be a better option? or do i have room to skimp elsewhere to make up the additional costs

CPU: Save $16. Futu Online (same company as Shopping Express) on eBay has 2600 for $228 after coupon code "PEACE".

Motherboard: Change it to something that has better VRMs (See: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-ZwVuH_tinzgpsOdfMvYeCLI5ZbIpnq5fyiWD4NCkkU/edit#gid=229691480) such as MSI B450M Bazooka Plus ($131 on eBay)/MSI Mortar Titanium($140 at umart)/MSI B450M Gaming Plus($125 at umart). I'd choose the Mortar if I had to make the choice. Or choose the Gaming Plus and allocate the savings elsewhere.

RAM: Ryzen needs fast memory at DDR4-3000 at least. Buy this (use Amazon Prime trial for free shipping) for about $8 more: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07B4G525F/?tag=pcppau-22

I'd also look into getting a GTX 1660 rather than an RX 580. No more free games with AMD so $300 for an RX 580 might not be worthwhile anymore. 1660 can be generally OCed to 1660 Ti level (1660 Ti on the other hand has very limited overclocking headroom in comparison). 1660 is roughly 15-20% faster at stock and closer to 25-30% once overclocked
(See: https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/b77tzk/geforce_gtx_1660_meta_review_1780_benchmarks/)

A Gigabyte GTX 1660 is only $347 on eBay (Futu) so you're paying only $47 (16%) more for substantially greater performance.

You'd still have $75 left (buying the cheaper CPU, choosing the MSI Mortar, upgrading RAM, and upgrading to GTX 1660).

Do you have a case?

That’s what we bought and he had a case already and I believe a 520Watt PSU

I also gave him my Asus RTX-2060 6gb. Any case or 2060 card will do the trick tho, that stuff is all about the same performance wise.

Works freaking great. I was very impressed with the performance. It ran almost as good as my 2060 did in my i5 9600k in games. I upgraded to a 2080 Super which is the only reason I gave up the 2060. And if I hadn’t got a 49 super ultra wide monitor I could have stuck with the 2060.

On a single screen it worked great

I was looking for RAM for my new PC build and I came across some white Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000Mhz, but I saw that there were two models that looked exactly the same.

Are these RAM sticks the same, or is there a difference between the two?

Is this ram compatible with this motherboard, and, follow-up question, are there better alternatives to this at around the same price range?

Brand new Corsair kit for £126. Reconsider your price. :)
