if battery life is a concern, you get what you pay for and in this case you're probably going to get 2-4 hrs 5-6 if you are doing insanely light work.

I'm sorry. I'm new to OpenBSD. I don't know how to disable acpi and when I the computer continues to boot before I can try adding the -c option. Anyway to overcome this

If you know anything about computers, I'd build him an Intel nuc. You have to out in a hard drive and ram and install windows, but it's smaller and more convenient than any old desktop. But it does require more than average knowledge.
