I've used an endoscope, which is useful and does not risk dropping the phone inside the wall. Also useful for small holes.

Not too pricey either.

It's easy to repair once the leak is fixed, rather than moving a tub or breaking through tile.

You can also drill a small hole and use an endoscope, they're cheap.
