Stack the meat and thinly-sliced cheese on the bread and toast both slices of bread in a pan with lots of butter. When sufficiently warm (the cheese should be right on the verge of melting) and golden, transfer to a plate, put the two pieces bread together to form a sandwich, and dive in.
No need for condiments, lettuce, tomato, etc. Generally agreed by my friends to be one of the best sandwiches they've ever had, although the amounts of butter used in pan toasting make it a high-calorie meal.
