Don't buy "gaming" speakers, those are just overpriced crap. Get a good pair of bookshelf speakers.

I'd look into some Edifier or Fluance Active/powered monitors if really sticking to that $300 and under budget. I have no experience with them but I've heard some good things. $200-$300 options. A sub is really needed to get quality movie theater audio.

For the fluance setup, the Ai40 leaves you money for the Sub. Ai60 is $300 unless you get them on sale somewhere that I haven’t found. If you aren’t using anything in your house at all, I’m sure the Ai60s will knock your socks off and be enough for a while. Typically, you want to get the best speakers you can afford and then skimp on the rest of the stuff but ultimately you need to be happy with the route you chose. Active bookselfs are versatile in that if you decide on a major upgrade in the future, these are easily moved to other rooms without hassle.


Micca, Dayton Audio and Monoprice have some $100- $120 subwoofer options. I'd probably try out that $99 12" sub from monoprice.


Ai60s were on my short list but ended up splurging more on Kali LP-8s and am happy with my purchase. I however, already have a living room setup so these went in my man cave.

I looking for something easy to use with this tv/ps4/xboxone/switch/plex server I got around $500+, 750 at the most but looking for more around $500 budget, looking for a 2.1 system /w bluetooth. Im looking at the Edifier 350DB but I am willing to budge on the bluetooth for something better.

A simple 3.5mm to dual 1/4" TS cable is all you need to connect them. It would work perfectly fine with the output on your computer and you would still use Windows to control volume. I just recommend the LSR305's because it is the best bang for your buck in terms of sound quality.

There are smaller speakers that may fit better (like the Micca's mentioned at the top), but typically the smaller you go the less bass you get. And yes you could easily turn them on their side. It's not ideal but it will work just fine. In your particular case, it may still make sense to go with a system that has smaller speakers and a powered sub. Just know that soundbars tend to use a lot of "audio trickery" to create their "multichannel sound". Basically they just butcher the audio using DSP to try to mimic surround sound. You will almost always be better off with 2 individual speakers. Something like this Edifier system or Swan system would sound a lot better than anything with a soundbar.

No one here will suggest a soundbar, no matter the situation. I have Edifier S350db in my bedroom in a tight spot and really enjoy it. Pretty much any input you would need and Bluetooth AptX.

There are Amps that have a DAC built in, but typically a Optical/Coaxial DAC. Though that would work for a TV.

Check the Yamaha Amps - AS301 (60w/ch), AS501(85w/ch), AS701(100w/ch), and the AS801(100w/ch) - very good very high value amps. Though there are many other amps to consider.

For about $250/pr, the Edifier R2000DB has TWO Aux in and an Optical In. I believe the 2.1 Edifier S350DB has the same.

I was originally looking at the Edifier S350DB as an all in one solution to what I wanted for sound, but decided a system I can upgrade in the future might be the best route.

Thank you for the recommendations, however I'm most likely not looking to expand my system anytime soon, so I'm not sure whether that setup would worth its price for me at this time.

I'm looking for speakers for my new Sony 65" X950G TV in a 12' x 19' living room. My budget is $300 and am debating between these three options as these are the ones that I've found that would work for me:

Yamaha YAS-207 - $230

Klipsch RSB-11 - $300

Edifier S350DB - $300

I'm not much of an audiophile but I just want something that'll sound good for my TV when watching movies, TV shows, and playing games.

My main priority was looking for something that is within my budget, convenient, has a remote, and no amplifiers/receivers because I don't want to deal with too many cables besides the power cables.

I know sound bars are generally frowned upon but I like the plug & play aspect as well as ease of use, but I saw really great things about the Edifier S350DB in terms of sound quality. The only thing that the S350DB would differ is the lack of HDMI ARC since I would be connecting this to a tv, so is that going to be a big deal?

I'm open to other recommendations as well, but if any of these three stand out, please help me pick which to go for!
