Fantasy: An Artist's Realm by Ben Boos is a fantastic world guide with wonderful art. I highly recommend it.

Eragon's Guide to Alagaesia is also a good bet. It's a bit childish, but that's to be expected with this series.

The dragonlover's guide to Pern is not my favorite, but it has some interesting parts.

The Adventure Time Encyclopedia is a very funny book, with great art and lore.

The Encyclopedia of Early Earth by Isabel Greenberg is more of a graphic novel, but it has encyclopedia-like sections about people, places, and legends in the world of Early Earth.

Yes, she actually was. There is another book by the author called "Eragon's Guide to Alagaesia." The cover shows her flying and there are plenty of pictures of her inside the book. And not to long ago there was even a coloring book that was released. My proof is below.
