The original box works just fine. But in the future I recommend you get some sort of carrying case. Here is the one I got and I've been very happy with it.
Do yourselves a favor and get this. Better in every way.

I picked up this and it's pretty decent. Has seats for controller and comes with strap for carrying case and wires. And a soft cover for the lenses

I have the Esimen branded version of this case. It's the exact same one but branded differently. It appears to have more room than the official case. Since I keep the eyeglass spacer inside my Quest, I use the room for the spacer to hold a bag that contains earbuds, a USB charger, and other things. It also came with a pretty nice lens protector.
