Vega 56: lower end is 500.

1070ti: EVGA is for 399 right now ( bam: https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Scanner-Graphics-08G-P4-5671-KR/dp/B076S4RH6K/ )

Sorry, but the 1070ti vs vega 56 is no question. Benchmarks speak for themselves.

To each their own, but if you game, you probably shouldn't get an AMD GPU. I say this as an AMD fanboy. I'm a bigger fan of my wallet, which is why I bought a used 1080TI for $450 :)

If anything, upgrade your GPU. If you buy right this second, you can grab a GTX 1070 ti for $272. This will be at the top of /r/buildapcsales and it was posted a few min ago.

You are looking at ~2x performance at 100w less power consumption.

http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-780-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1070-Ti/2164vs3943

Upgrade your CPU/Motherboard/Ram when AMD's 7nm R7 3700X comes out.

Seriously try to grab the GPU to lock in the price.

An 8600k is a great choice and it'd save you $110 so you could upgrade to a 1070ti (link) or 1080 (link) to get better gaming performance.

The k chips don't come with stock coolers anymore, and the stock coolers wouldn't be adequate anyway. Since you don't plan to OC, a Cryorig H7 (link) would fit the bill too keep it cool and quiet while still fitting in the same budget.

I recommend getting this card. EVGA has good quality graphics cards and their customer support is AMAZING, just ask anyone who has ever used their products. This card is perfect for your monitor and I would suggest getting it.

Hey all :)

I've decided to start buying these parts:

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/guide/qWLrxr/excellent-amd-gaming-build

I'm in the UK. I went to buy the graphics card and found that it's more expensive than listed on PC Part Picker:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B076S4RH6K/?tag=pcp0f-21

Also, it flags that "There is a newer model of this item:"

The newer model is this one:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-GeForce-Scanner-Graphics-08G-P4-5671-KR/dp/B076VSXDH4/ref=dp_ob_title_ce

I don't mind paying more money than what PC Part Picker said. All I care about is gives the same performance as the original card PC Part Picker recommended and it's compatible with the rest of the build.

I'm sure I'm going to face this problem a few more times whilst buying these parts... :S Any help is greatly appreciated :)

DDR3 ram wont fit in any modern motherboard, you need DDR4. I would get a better PSU for Vega.

And say no to blower, Vega56 Red Dragon/Pulse. Or buy 1070Ti and OC it to almost stock 1080 level.

Evga usually has really reliable cards

I'm trying to upgrade the graphics card in my computer, but I'm kind of confused between the different versions of the below graphics cards and which one would be the best / most valuable. What are the differences between these and what are your thoughts on them?

1070 SC $399.99

1070Ti SC $399.99

1070Ti FTW2 $429.99

In the beginning phases of my first build, setting a budget of around $1,000 CDN, so I am trying to find parts second hand etc.

Someone in my area is selling this [EVGA GTX GeForce 1070ti 8GB] (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B076S4RH6K/?tag=pcp0f-20) which retails around $700 before taxes but he is selling it still sealed for $500 CDN and no tax.

Would this GPU be overkill? Is it worth it to take up this deal and possibly exceed my budget as a result? He is also selling a EVGA 1060 6GB.

I haven't purchased any other components yet either so I don't have to worry about compatibility or anything of that nature.

u/VinceYehudah · 1 pointr/gpumining

The cards have one 8-pin connector so I guess it's okay.

As for the riser cables, I've read that 6-pin PCI-e connectors only provide up to 75 watts of power: up to 3.125 amps each on two +12v wires. So I can't use a 6-pin cable to power the risers.

If so, are 6-pin risers just bad design and something to be avoided? I mean, even with adapters, some cable will eventually be of the 6-pin kind, no?

Oh fuck, I bought an EVGA 1070ti

Should I cancel the order or return it for another brand one? I am really paranoid about PC building as is, I dont want a card liable to ignite
