If you're into literature about North Korea, I would also recommend Eyes of the Tailless Animals by Soon Ok Lee.

Soon Ok-lee witnessed two incidents of testing of chemical agents while she was a prisoner/accountant at the semi urban Kaechon kwaliso (concentration camp for political prisoners) which she described in her Senate testimony and in her book "Eyes of the Tailless Animals". (excerpt can be read here in this article Vinalon, the DPRK, and Chemical Weapons Precursors

An article I read a very long time ago on kimsoft.com, a website that is no longer online, also described the history of the DPRK chemical weapons program and described reports of chemical testing on human beings.

It may be possible to find it and read it via archive.org's "wayback machine"

Eyes of the Tailless Animals Eyes of the Tailless Animals - A book about a woman that lived a fairly comfortable life, but was forced into prison camps after she refused to take part in official corruption. It's a very personal memoir, but I found it to be a good read.

Somewhere Inside By Lisa and Laura Ling. I read this before I read "The World is Bigger Now," and they're two very different books. Laura was a tool for the North Koreans during their captivity because of the connections she had. Her boss, Al Gore, was able to involve the State Department and ultimately led to Clinton's rescue of them. This is more political and less emotional when compared to Euna Lee's book. I found it quite informative.

Eyes of the Tailless Animals and Long Road Home may interest you as well. There are a couple of books about the original Gulags in the Soviet Union (what Kim Il-Sung modeled the NK gulags after) that are excellent reads. Let me know if you want those.

If you are interested in the North Korea and Christianity you ought to read Eyes of the Tailless Animals by Soon Ok Lee, North Korean prison camp escapee. (Though honestly very little of the book is devoted to Christianity, it's mostly just her detailing her experiences)
