But I asked for my main gift to be a flashlight. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00DT5BVOW/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1419616587&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SY200_QL40
I've always bought sub $20 flashlights and they always sucked. I decided to spend a little extra on a Fenix PD35 flashlight. Vendor link. I love it! It's small and incredibly bright.
Also a Galaxy S5. I've always bought the older generation phones to save money but sprint had a great deal on them so I got one. everything about this phone is amazing. It feels more powerful than my last two smartphones combined.

You cannot go wrong with a Fenix PD 35. It can use a 18650 rechargeable battery and has multiple brightness settings from low enough to use in the house at night, to a tactical strobe that will blind an attacker.

I am planning on upgrading my PD32 to a PD 35 soon. Love fenix lights. Lost it in the yard for a month in the fall, and still worked when I found it. Button was a little off, so I contacted fenix, and they sent me a replacement no questions asked.
