In my opinion it would be better than a blend because you can control the quality of the tea and the mint, and make it "just right" to the level of mint you want. I grew mint in my garden for years and often made mint tea out of it, I imagine it would be delicious with a good rich black tea.

This dried spearmint has good reviews, and would make so so many cups of tea. People even say it makes better tea than blends in the questions section.

You can really get a good recipe down like 1tsp mint 1tsp black tea for 3 minutes, and play with it until it's perfect a little longer brew time, a little less mint, so on.
