What about https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BZ239Z2/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

or it the Taichi still best. I know for $300 I can get the x570 Taichi but I dont need PCI 4.0

Might as well go with a X470 since they are so cheap now.

If this comes across as bitter, mine died after 9 weeks.
What I try to look at is patterns among bad reviews.
I'd start here: https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-X470-AORUS-Gaming-Motherboard/product-reviews/B07BZ239Z2/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_viewopt_srt?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=all_reviews&formatType=current_format&pageNumber=1&sortBy=recent
and work my way through them, and you'll find a decent number of bad reviews are from it dying within a few months or just arriving doa.

For the first few months after it came out, reviews were decent and all looked fine, that's why I bought it. In the following few months, you'll notice there are now a significant number of bad reviews due to the board dying.
It is entirely possible that this was just a bad batch of motherboards, but without an easy method of verifying this, would you really want to risk it for potentially a few dozen dollars more for something less risky?

I hope this doesn't come across hating on gigabyte as I have two 7000 series graphics cards, lots of friends with their cards and a few motherboards without any issues, it just feels like something went wrong when they manufactured these.

Also, it's 1:15am, I'm not going to care about formatting.

Edit: just, not Judy.

Thats a massive ripoff for a b350 motherboard. Get a much better x470 motherboard like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BZ239Z2/?tag=pcpapi-20

u/dehydrogen · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I hope I am not being too bold but I recommend the Gigabyte X470 Aorus Gaming 7. You can get the non-wifi version for $131. I like it because it is designed for people who like overclocking and it caters to the octacore Ryzens well.

Here is a youtube video that examines the components very closely. He does the same for other X470 motherboards so I feel they would be interesting for you.

https://youtu.be/lNRQZkYB0ns

Amazon Warehouse has a damaged box one for $109 currently.

https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-X470-AORUS-ULTRA-GAMING/dp/B07BZ239Z2/

The wifi version is typically $240, but I found the Amazon Warehouse damaged box one is $190.

https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-X470-AORUS-Gaming-WIFI/dp/B07BVNYFM2?

As usual with Gigabyte, they have this obsession with Realtek audio driver that borks up whenever it has the chance. I don't know if you'd experience it, but the audio driver tends to mess up in my gigabyte boarss. That's just something i've always experienced with Gigabyte.

Edit: Oh shit I just noticed that the cheaper one lacks the heat sink for the VRM and second M.2 slot. Then the wifi one is better for more reasons than wifi...

u/BandidTwitch · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Yeah the 2700x would be a step up for sure specially with all the multitasking you do. I'd get a gigabyte x470 aorus or asus rog strix b450 as for ram I'd want 3200 c14 G.Skill flare that ram should work great with the 2700x, and get you the speed you want.

u/NoGoPro · 2 pointsr/buildapc

X470 is $99 on Prime day right now. I do not know if it is compatible, just throwing it out there

u/Pbreeze2285 · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

Prime day deal has this board for $99. I'm speculating that when the ram deal goes live it'll be appx $50-$60, so you could potentially be looking at $150 instead of $217

Interesting, I have a Gigabyte Aorus Gaming motherboard. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07BZ239Z2?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title

u/Charizard9000 · 1 pointr/buildapc

for the ryzen 2xxx series i would recommend any X470 board between 120-150 bucks, if you want fast looks for ones with prime one-day

this one fits the bill

u/randomonetimepost · 1 pointr/hackintosh

Well, that's pretty crazy man. You can google x470 motherboards, those motherboards are all set for the 2000 generation. I got Gigabyte because Gigabyte is pretty much the best for hackintosh compatibility.

But take a look at Amazon,

https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-X470-AORUS-ULTRA-GAMING/dp/B07BZ239Z2

If you click used, they have warehouse deals for 90$ or so. It's pretty good.

If you can't get it for a good price, just try searching which brands are good for hackintosh,

I suggest getting a x470 board, since those are the onces which will allow the percision boost.

I need help finding just one 120 mm RGB case fan that's compatible with my motherboard without also installing an RGB controller. I just need a single fan for the front of my case but every pack on Amazon is for 3+ and includes a controller. I originally purchased this fan which was perfect except that it had a 4 pin connector while my motherboard only has a 5 pin header. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you!

Motherboard is a GIGABYTE X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING.

u/The_11th_Dctor · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

Op, do NOT go with the Micro ATX motherboard of the one mentioned above. I bought it from Amazon and within a WEEK it bricked up. I returned it and bought this one or do what I regret not doing and get this one with the wifi (it's under configurations)

u/FireMochiMC · 1 pointr/buildapc

If going for a 2700 I'd say go for this motherboard, it's better than anything else in the 100$ range because it's actually a higher end board on sale

As for 16gb vs 8gb I'd absolutely get 16gb for any processor 6 cores and above, if you only get 8gb you're just limiting what your 1600 or 2700 + gtx 1080 can do

But if you're only using for example a 2200g or 2400g then yeah 8gb is perfectly usable

No problem :) it's what we on this sub are here for

Just snagged this and the $99 ram deal on Amazon. Long time Intel guy, first time AMD. Need suggestions for a Mobo. Looking at the Gigabyte Aorus Ulta for $104.

Thoughts?

this power supply and this motherboard should do ya perfectly.

u/highschoolstyle · 1 pointr/buildapc

sorry for annyoing you but I have one more question is this mobo a good one?

u/DismalLunatic · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

There's a good sale going on for this motherboard https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BZ239Z2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_XETADb92MMRPD
Other then that any X370, B450, X470, X570 from asus, gigabyte and MSI close to your budget will do fine

If you did want a laptop I would totally snag this or this. Both have enough hardware to play current AAA titles and will last for a few years for sure

If you do want to part out a PC to build Amazon might not be the most cost effective so check a bunch of different sites to make sure before pulling the trigger (including microcenter if there's one near you). Here's a decent start list though:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 $199.99

GPU: Zotac RTX 2070 $556.43

Mobo: Gigabyte x470 Aorus Ultra Gaming $124.90

RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance 3000mhz $69.99

Storage: Samsung 970 Evo m.2 nvme 500GB for OS/select programs $89.99

2TB Seagate Firecuda SSHDD for library storage, if necessary $59.99

PSU: EVGA 650W, 80 plus gold rated fully modular PSU $97.06

OS: [OEM Win10](https://www.amazon.com/Windows-Home-English-Language-Product/dp/B07TW6G6JP/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=windows+10&qid=1563210474&s=gateway&sr=8-7]. $72.00 Not need if you already have. Pretty sure you can get even cheaper OEM copies out there. Or y'know, other means. Or Linux, etc

Total: $1270.35 including the OEM Win10 which you may or may not need

Missing items: monitor, mouse, keyboard, case. Compared to the prebuilt at $1499.99 that leaves you $229.64 to get a case & any necessary peripherals, upgrade any items on the list, or just pocket the 'savings'

The ibuypower one linked doesn't appear to be that bad. But when reading the comments there are people who got the 8700k version for $1350 (currently $1433, one you linked "on sale" for 1499.99)...so pricing might be misleading. Also keep in mind SI's need to make a profit and usually skimp when it comes to things like cooling, storage and motherboards. I can't tell what mobo that has, but it shouldn't be much of an issue unless you want to overclock, probably not as good components and features as what I listed though. The cooling is actually pretty nice with the cpu watercooling at that price. But not sure on how it is for the other components (ie system case fans). The storage is a bit shit, with a smaller sata ssd and a smaller much slower mechanical hdd. The RAM isn't much better, going off amazon reviews it's basically no name ram at 2666mhz. Also they use a generic 600W psu and apparently the included mouse and keyboard stink. So gotta take the good with the bad but the one I price out looks like a much better option across the board and leaves you room to pick and choose certain upgrades n such

u/GLORYBETOGODPIMP · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

Snagged that and this board. Saved 50 bucks, thanks!
