This V-blade mandoline slicer is made out of my dreams. /u/cheeseburger_humper got it for me and it is magical. It cuts all the things easily and beautifully.

This is the thing I covet more than any other. I realize it is far too expensive for a contest prize, but I just thought I would share its awesomeness with you. As a vegetarian, I press my tofu with paper towels and heavy cookbooks, but this gadget does it for you.

I really love my Tofu Xpress. It works well and it works quickly. It's very sturdy. It doesn't make a mess. I like that it can also be used to marinate the tofu. My only complaint is that it works best for the standard sized tofu blocks, and doesn't quite handle differently shaped pieces of tofu as well.

What about a [tofu press] (http://www.amazon.com/Gourmet-Tofu-Press-Marinating-Dish/dp/B002QO5LY8)? You can do this at home with plates, but it much easier this way. Squishing out all the water gives it better texture and lets marinades absorb better.

If you are interested in incorporating more tofu, I'd highly recommend getting a tofu press. Like this or this. It's laughable how expensive they are but if you are the slightest bit handy, you could definitely make one. They save SO many paper towels and are just all around super effective at making tofu far easier to cook.

Edit to add: if you're not handy, something like the ones I linked really are worth the splurge if you eat a lot of tofu and can feasibly afford one.

I used to fight with pressing it, stacking a bunch of books on top, but the counter would get messy from the liquid draining out. You can find tofu presses on Amazon that make it a lot easier. Worth every penny. * I wish it wasn’t so pricey but! I tell everyone and they come back to say they bought 2! Nothing falls and breaks. One twist and it closes. Cover for storage. Highly recommend.

I never see this mentioned on this sub, but the secret to really good tofu is a press.

I went for the TofuXpress. It is plastic, but the plastic parts seemed much more durable than those on comparable products. It was $50 with shipping, but we go through a lot of tofu so it was easy to justify. Your mileage may vary.

Expensive but amazing tofu press

This press is the most amazing gadget i own. It's expensive but it takes all the hassle out of pressing tofu. It's spring loaded so just keeps pressing but does so entirely evenly with no fuss. If i know i won't be around for a while i place the tofu in here for a few hours in the fridge and its amazing the amount of water that comes out. Makes the texture so much more dense and fantastic!

Get one of these, I know, it’s pricey, but worth every penny if cook a lot of tofu.
