Not a catholic, but I got this one from He Came to Set the Captives Free. Something to do with yoga being about clearing your mind and demons sneaking in through the backdoor.

"Backmasking" was the craze around my family. We had a tape recorder that could play both forward and reverse, and my parents would randomly grab my music and play it backwards "to listen for subliminal messages the devil recorded on the tape".

I secretly listened to "The Simpsons" on a multiband shortwave radio that happened to tune broadcast TV frequencies.

This book was normal reading for me. Joke's on them, though.. the graphic depictions of demon sex made me 'Go Satanist' when I hit puberty. Oops.

Ironicly, during that time I actually picked up 'The Satanic Bible' from the library, and whole worlds of philosophy and theology opened up to me. That book pulled me right out of the religious/counter-religious path, and made me the rationalist agnostic I am today. I still consider myself very spiritual, but it's a personal path that I use to help me keep a sense of purpose and self-worth in my life; but I know the difference between spiritual wisdom and religious belief now,
