A GW2 computer for under $1000? Good timing. I built this for my wife 2 days ago and it does just fine running GW2 will all setting at maximum other than post processing. I set post processing to low (the middle position) because I'm just not a fan of how things look with post processing set to high.

Running around Lion's Arch, I was getting 80 to 100 fps. WvW pretty much cut that in half. Standing still at a merchant would spike the fps to 140+ fps, so I have the frame rate limiter set to 60. No point in generating all that extra heat.

Everything about this build was paint-by-numbers simple. The power supply is fully modular, so no extra cables flopping around and the Fractal Designs case is a dream to work with. Here's a pic of the interior just before testing.

The only thing not shown in that pic is a random, spare graphics card that I added. I already had the card laying around, so I stuck it in there and used it for the second monitor so the main GPU only has to handle one monitor. That's really not needed, but I already had it, so why not?

Actually, there's also a hard drive that technically IS "in the pic" but you can't see it. On the back side of the motherboard tray, there are 2x 2.5" HD mounts and 3x 3.5" HD mounts. There's a 1TB hard drive mounted back there. If you see the Fractal Design logo in the bottom right of the case, the hard drive is mounted on the back side of that panel, behind the square section that's above the logo. That's another thing I had laying around and didn't need to buy, but you can easily pick up a hard drive for under $50 that'll work great as a data drive if 500GB isn't enough for you.

You'll also need a copy of Windows. That will be $30 to $100 depending on how/where you buy it.

Looks good. But you might as well spend an extra $10 on a 7200rpm 1TB hard drive.

Also, this power supply is a steal right now at $35 from Best Buy:

Also, the extra headroom it has vastly increases your options for upgrade in the future.

This last bit of advise is pretty option, but I think the RX 470 is definitely worth spending an extra $30. The extra graphics performance it give your for a relatively modest price bump is pretty great.
