Hey,

how about the Huawei Matebook X Pro? It has:

  • i5-8250U 4-core processor

  • 8 GB of RAM

  • 256 GB SSD storage

  • 3K 13.9" touchscreen display (3000 x 2000)

  • Weight of 2.9lbs and battery life up to 15 hours

The laptop runs Windows 10 Home. For what you're looking for, I just think you need a portable device with excellent battery life, so I think the Matebook X Pro is a good match.

Putting more thought into it, this seems like to much for me. I would prefer a lighter and smaller laptop. 14" preferred and doesn't need to have the gaming aspect nearly as much. Currently looking at the Huawei matebook x pro for $1000 Huawei MateBook X Pro Signature Edition Thin & Light Laptop, 13.9" 3K Touch, 8th Gen i5-8250U, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, 3:2 Aspect ratio, Office 365 Personal Included, Mystic Silver - Mach-W19B https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CTKCFFH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_jhbmDb05SE99P

If you are doing basic tasks and leaning towards the MacOS, then the macbook air is your best bet.

Apple has good customer support and the build quality is premium

Only downside for apple (in my opinion) is that the specs do not match the price (paying for the logo), but if you are doing basic tasks and no intense gaming, apple is the way to go. Plus the battery life on the macbook air is great

If you want a windows pc i would get the Huawei matebook x

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CTKCFFH/ref=twister_B07HZSSNJ3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

it has great build quality and better specs - but costs more

if you get the i7 version for like 200 bucks more you get a discrete graphics card (mx 150)

Ah. That's a pretty standard price for the i5 model. It can even be found cheaper on sites like Newegg or Amazon
