I use these and they’re awesome for 8 bucks. Even protects the notch area and doesn’t affect how it works or speed of unlock. Would recommend if you want full coverage.

I was in the same place about a week ago. I wanted something slim that also added a bit of grip. After trying a few others I settled on Caudabe Veil XT. It's ultra slim and has a nice texture that makes the phone a bit more grippy. But keep in mind that's basically a thick skin and I doubt it'll offer much drop protection.
I also got a blue leather Apple Leather case. Looks great but it's a bit more slippery than I expected.
As for screen protectors, I wanted something that was edge to edge.I found this iCarez protector that has been great so far.
I picked up this edge-to-edge screen protector from iCarez, and they did a fantastic job masking the edge along the curve. It looks like there isn’t a screen protector on it. Applicator is easy, and if you do decide to put a case on it it will work with it.
When I did go caseless, I did notice microscratches that drove me mad. I still prefer a minimalistic feel, so I picked up a 0.35 TPU case that helps with scratches and minor drops.
