Yes and no. The stupid attitude is pretty prevalent. Obnoxious comments, bumper stickers, etc. I've never lived anywhere where people whine so much about people moving from other places, especially California. Bashing Californians seem to be the cool thing to do around here. Lots of sheep in Idaho. I was being facetious about the ear plugs, though.

Idahoans are weird. It's definitely the least friendly place I've ever lived. The majority of the nice, cool people I've met in Idaho grew up somewhere else.

In all seriousness, the gazetteer someone recommended is a great idea. I have both and prefer the [Benchmark maps,] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0929591062/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) but you can't go wrong with either one.
