I recently assembled this part list for another miner, hope you find it useful, all the price are in USD. Take the part list and buy the component when you can get it cheaper, it will be <1800 pounds for sure.

Hope this helps

470/480s are the best choice as far as I know due to their hash rate/power consumption. Only thing is they are hard to find. I went with rx 570 4gb's which use upwards of 150w a piece but you can sacrifice some speed and lower power usage with some modding.

Its very important to pick a good PSU for your setup that can handle the load. Pick gold rated efficiency or higher as they waste less power.

Hooking up more than 2-3 cards will probably require Risers. Make sure to get 6 pin powered ones. Not Molex to sata or anything else. 6 pin is safer and allows you to hook your PSU directly to the risers.

Not to sure of all specific mobos that work with 5-6 gpus but you are looking for a board that has as many pci-e slots as you need. They can be pci-e 1, 2, 3 but not just PCI. As you can see from how the risers work they will fit any one of those slots.

Cheapest route for a board and cpu if you need one would be an lga1150 board that works with how many cards you need and a celeron cpu.

I'm fairly new to this but the most difficult thing seems to be finding everything in stock.

Hopefully this gets you going in the right direction at least.

Hi everyone,

I'm a total beginner when it comes to mining and I want to build my own rig and start doing IT. After doing some research and reading, I decided that I want to start mining Monero as it's easier, quite profitable comparing to other coins and has a lot of room left to grow.

First of all, I want to build my own mining rig and these the gear that cought my eye at a first glance into the mining world:

With this set up I calculated a $257 profit at a total of 5500 H/s, 700w consumption and $0.11/kwh and a 1% pool fee.

This seems a little less than I thought and read regarding the profit, am I missing something?

Is the potential hash rate bigger than 5500 h/s or the consumption lower? (I put this value based on what I read on other forums from people with the same video card)

Any advice is welcomed, please let me know your thoughts.

Thank you!

Hello, I am selling my GPUs + some other hardware.

I live close to the Austro-Italian border (in the Alps) so the cards have been running very cool (MAX. 55C) - check my post history, I posted about it a while back in different subreddits. The hardware was in a sheltered room at outside temp. which averages at about -2°C in the winter and 15°C in the summer.

The location is at 1600m above sea level so that explains the temperatures.

I am open for trades. I am looking for high power Ryzen and Threadripper CPUs and Motherboards

I can do the transaction over EBay if that works better

Ok, so I didn't realize that LGA1150 socket CPUs have grown in price so much. I bought this CPU(https://www.amazon.com/Intel-Celeron-G1840-Processor-BX80646G1840/dp/B00J2LIE9C/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1512064901&sr=8-7&keywords=lga+1150) when it was about $55 at the time, and it wasn't on sale or anything.

Edit: just checked how much I paid for that CPU. I bought it a year ago for $43.40 off Amazon. So you may be able to find a the same/similar model CPU for that price.

4 weeks ago this(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00W4TREZO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s03?ie=UTF8&psc=1) CPU was $79.93, but is currently going for $93.37.
