Well in recent history there was Slabtown, the original Know, Dunes, Club 21, etc. But some stories are not just about gentrification. Each was a small business and some just kind of collapsed when they needed to, or when the owners moved on, etc.

Going back further look at Satyricon (the first one), the Meow Meow, Eejay’s, La Luna, Cafe Wha, the X-Ray, the Globe etc.

Or if you’re talking about way back in the day, look into “Jumptown” and how the city fucked that up
