There's a program called DS4Windows which makes using a PS4 controller over Bluetooth pretty much plug and play. It even enables the DS4's touch pad to be used as a track pad for the mouse, which works surprisingly well.

If a 360 pad is more your style, you can find generic wireless receivers on Amazon for about £5. I have been using one since 2008. No problems to report. Just don't lose the driver disc.. Took me a while to find a usable driver online.

As for controlling the PC, there's a neat looking app going through Steam Greenlight now called Controller Companion. I have no idea how well it works, but the virtual keyboard is one of the better implementations I've seen. Someone might know of a freeware app that does something similar, though.

Or: just get a Logitech K400. Small, light, surprisingly good battery life (been using it regularly for a year on 2 AA's), and very comfortable for lap use. Good price, too.

I can't think of a good, wireless mechanical keyboard off the top of my head, which is why I plan on buying a Logitech K400 for using my PC while sitting on my sofa soon.

The K400 tends to be very well regarded, and it's a lot cheaper than the DiNovo Edge.

Awesome. Thank you! Although PCPP says my build's at ~347W right, I can't imagine upgrading to SLI would add that much. Although I'm probably wrong. Would a new PSU be to stay on the safe side? I'm guessing something like a 650W gold certified PSU would be what I should be going for?

I might still just get a PCIe card anyway. Wouldn't hurt to have even more USB ports and I'd like for the card reader to get speeds as fast as possible. Although if I decide to cheap out a tiny bit I'll definitely follow your suggestion!

I'm actually tempted to upgrade the RAM because of how much shit I like to have open at once even if I'm not using it. It's not unusual for me to have 15+ chrome tabs, iTunes, FIFA 15, MPC running a movie, IDM downloading a bunch of stuff, and other misc stuff open in the background even if I'm just writing an essay. If I was to go through with it, should I get 2 more 4GB sticks or just go for 2x8GB sticks for further future proofing?

edit: since I'm rambling, I'm tempted to get both this and this too. My bank balance hates me :(
