Get a bonnet dryer! There's no way I could still have dreads without one. My hair would probably be wet for 2+ days, even with using a blow dryer.

Whats best depends on your hair type and moisture requirements. I encourage you to try a variety oils and regimens to find whats best for your hair. However, those with type 4 loc'ed hair have general success with the following which I also use.
Shampoo: Dr. bronner's castile soap
Conditioners: I use hot oil treatments composed of fresh aloe. olive oil, and argon oil
Blow dryers: Laila Ali LADR5604 Ionic Soft Bonnet Dryer, Purple with White Bonnet Really any hooded dryer is good.
Gel: African Formula Super Grow Hair Gel Regular Hold
Supplemental: Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Lavender Oil , Argon Oil, Carrot Oil, ect.
--- I use the Jamaican black castor oil to add moisture to my scalp between washes or after a wash if I need it. The lavender oil is also added to my scalp for the smell. The other oils are added to the shaft of my locs after a sprit's of distilled water if I feel that the locs are dry.

Some of these are subjective, this is one way of maintaining locs but there are lots of other products that you could use. I encourage you to do your research into all of these products, youtube is a treasure trove of information about loc maintenance. i tend to be a minimalist when it comes to my locs and base my reprimand on the writings of yannie the locologist. Oh, I understand. I use this one. If I put all my hair in at once I occasionally get airflow blocked, so I leave some portion out and then readjust my dreads halfway through drying to get the damp areas. You might have to spend longer under the dryer to make sure all your hair gets dry. See what I mean? You might have to do it in portions like me, which will take longer.
