I commented this in a thread, but since everyone is rightly pointing out that removing the skins is really essential to getting that texture as light and moussy as possible, I wanted to comment this directly --

Chana dal. If you're able to work with chana dal, which is hulled, split and dried chick peas, you can get your beans ready in 30 min of passive prep time. When the beans are cooked, treat them as you would any other chick pea and season with your favorite recipe. Blend to fuck in a food processor and it honestly comes out as smooth and velvety as whipped cream.

I made a hummus that I dream about sometimes with chana dal cooked in water seasoned with a few drops of liquid smoke. I see that smoked paprika is a popular addition -- this pretty much works on that premise as well (best and only liquid smoke I would ever use is Lazy Kettle brand. One of my most prized additions to the pantry).
