Buy a mousepad, I think that will really make a difference with the smoothness of the surface you are playing on. As for a mouse, it doesn't have to be a lefty mouse, it can be ambidextrous. The Zowie FK2 is commonly used among pro players and has both an ambidextrous design and side buttons on each side. If you don't have a budget, you could definitely look at something like the Logitech G Pro Wireless.
