It's confirmed the musical will be adapted and coming out in 2019, apparently. But...

The novel is set to be produced as a mini-series by ABC, and Salma Hayek's is attached to it (to produce? I forget). I think the novel would translate well as mini series most of all (I said the same thing about Anne Rice's vampire books and she agrees).

I disagree.... Theres like a new oz movie/show every two years or so. So far we've had:

The Wiz Live! last year.

Emerald City coming out next year.

Season 3 on OUAT onward has featured the wicked witch heavily as apart of the main cast.

Witches Of Oz

Legends of Oz and that's just a few off the top of my head.

The Wizard of Oz is both classic and public domain and well known. People just cant stop doing reimaginings of it.
