Boundaries of will are super important in relationships. We cannot control others, and we'll destroy those relationships if we try. Your wife cannot control your daughter, just as you cannot control her. But each of you can decide what is and isn't okay for you (I'm confident that your daughter isn't okay with being slapped). This is the best book on the subject I've ever read. (It's called "Keep your Love On" in English if anyone in your family needs that version.)
