Buy it on amazon or wherever. You use a small layer of it on the irritated parts of your nose before you put the mask on and it creates a protective barrier to keep it from getting irritated. Its used most commonly for breast feeding moms and irritation, you can imagine how bad that must get, so its perfect for the same reason for cpap users.

+100 to this. Everyone who says they wear flip-flops all week and playa foot "isn't a thing" are the dumb-luck exceptions, not the rule.

My partner stubbed his toe super hard, wearing flip-flops during setup, and thought the "I'll just keep it clean" standards of the regular world work. Nope. 24 hrs later playa dust had gotten all up in it, dried out a sortof chipped up big toenail into a dried and cracking toenail that was splitting in half. By day 3 it was all irritated and drying up from the cracked part out, and by the end of the burn he lost his whole big toenail. Which you might think "ehh, that's not that bad of an injury" - trust me it is. It won't kill you, you won't need to go to the hospital... but jesus christ will it RUIN your burn as you live with 24/7 throbbing and annoying pain that makes walking, biking, dancing, everything... just super painful and annoying. And a constant battle to keep playa dust out of the open nail-bed after the nail started peeled off.

Washing your hands, face, and feet really well every night before bed (a simple washcloth and 8oz of water in a bowl/ziplock bag, will do it) makes a huge difference to your skin and sanity. And lotion it all after - or use Lanolin, which is thicker and absorbs slower and deeper, and has been used for generations by nursing moms with cracked nipples and skin from breast-feeding, and also works great on diaper rash and genital heat-rash.. Put in on armpits, elbows, knees, heels, anywhere your skin is irritated or cracking/dry - that stuff in the link is great and only like $6.

There's no glory in thinking you're too hardcore and "experienced" to do basic self-care to keep you healthy through the burn. Or that you don't use lotion or wash & lotion your feet nightly at home, so why do it now (which was my BF's theory). Because you're not at home. You're in a dry lakebed filled with highly alkaline, microfine, dust everywhere running around like a sweaty sunburnt drunk hooligan all day and night.

medela lanolin before every latch (safe for baby) and lansinoh gel soothies right after every feeding got me through the first few weeks. My consultant said latch was shallow, and it took about 3 weeks to fix. In the meantime, it hurt. Badly. But here we are, still going at almost 11 months. Hang in there! It really, truly gets better!

I LOVE AZELAIC ACID. So I pretty well thought I would live with a red face forever along with a severely damaged moisture barrier. The biggest thing that helped me was azelaic acid. I use Melazepam from Amazon. Cheap and works! It's thick at first but smoothes into my skin leaving it kinda matte. At first it itched like crazy and I wasn't using it consistently enough. Then after more research, I decided to use it up and give it a chance. Along with anything high in ceramide, my skin got used to the 20% AzA. Maybe around the 10th day of twice daily use, my skin finally started to look normal. I also switch my oil cleanser to an olive oil based one and saw even more improvement in my redness. I've just added in Vit C to my under eye area and continuing to use Melazepam around the rest of my face and neck and my ENTIRE COMPLEXION is EVEN NOW! Would never have believed that was possible. Melazepam has also minimized my SFs on my nose, has finally stopped this ingrown hair on my neck from forming (I've had it for years!!!), and has cleared all the CCs on my forehead. I repeat: I loooooove azelaic acid, specifically Melazepam!

Medela Tender Care Lanolin Tube on my lips. Yes it's nip cream. I couldn't use it all up while nursing and it causes my skin to redden so it's perfect for a little lip color.

Pretty sure my shower filter, Mermosis, has also helped my skin and hair.

I also use sometimes REVITABOOST PEEL Anti-Aging Peel Pads or Cosrx Bha Blackhead Power Liquid but I skip my AzA on those days and just go back to my regular routine the following day. These are rare for me though because they make me ridiculously red again.

First of all, don't panic!! The Spectra is a great pump and you're going to do great.

If you're going to pump in an office, a minifridge is AWESOME. Stores my milk and pump parts during the day, plus during the early days when I was starving all the time I had it loaded with yogurts, string cheese, etc. I just keep my pump parts in a gallon bag in there during the day and wash them each night. I use a fresh gallon bag each day although that might be wasteful/OCD of me.

I use this bag to carry my milk home.

I used to use these wipes for my pump parts in between every session, but have gotten a little less anal about it over time and with fewer pump sessions at work. (Edit to add: I'd recommend getting some for road trips too because they can be used to wipe down high chairs, tables, etc.)

I use Nuk bags and like them better than Lansinoh because they're a little more square and thus easier to store in my deep freezer bins.

Medela lanolin is amazing. It has some additives that make it a little softer and thus easier to put on, which is key when your nipples hurt. At 9mo out I'm still using it on days when baby gets chompy, but YMMV on that front.

A spare set of parts is essential, or alternatively, a hand pump you can use as a backup. If you're not sure about flange size (and idk if you really can be until you're actually pumping), gift cards to a store that sells pumping supplies would be super helpful.

I think Lanolin in its purest form is much better than aqauaphor since we don’t know how much is in there.
