>Good laptop to run GW2?

>I'm thinking of getting a laptop to run gw2. Any idea what video card I should be using? How much ram, speed of CPU, and storage space the laptop should have?
Been playing Guild Wars 2 on laptops for nearly 5 years now, I got you. You don't need much space (~40GB free for GW2 is plenty), and you don't need much RAM (game only seems to use around 3GB of RAM anyway). But I'm going to assume you're not ONLY using this for Guild Wars 2. I'm going to assume you want a laptop that can actually not be crappy when you decide to try something else.
Note: If it doesn't have an SSD (solid state drive), you're going to want to buy one and install it anyway. They're definitely worth the investment, the time it saves you loading or waiting for updates alone is tremendous. You might as well buy one with an SSD installed, to save yourself the hassle, but it's totally your call. Larger laptops have a second bay for a hard drive too, or you can replace the DVD bay (if any) with a hard drive or SSD by using an adapter that fits to the optical disc bay. Or just use an external hard drive for backups, or some kind of cloud service... or use nothing but the SSD, if you don't plan on having sensitive data saved locally on the laptop.
since the latest refresh was crazy nice (Nvidia 1080 would be best).
Note: I'm not an Nvidia/Intel fanboy, and I know the benchmark sites above are user-submitted (definitely not perfect). However, Guild Wars 2 generally seems to be a lot less buggy on Intel CPUs and Nvidia GPUs. I'm sure AMD's alternatives are working fine for many people, so they're worth considering to save some money. I just wouldn't want to risk it personally, especially with that much money on the line. I advise against getting anything from AMD for GW2 if you can help it. Also, I've never owned an Nvidia card that failed, and I've never owned an AMD card that didn't fail. So I am biased, but for good reason.
Now, since you haven't given a pricepoint, or a size limit, I'll just start from the top:
$9000
$6000
$4700
$3700
$3100
$2650
$2400
$1900
$1800
$1650
$1580
Be sure to note the screen size (usually 15" or 17") and resolution (usually 4K vs 1080p), if those things matter to you. Guild Wars 2 does not scale nicely for 4K screens, so the user interface will be very small unless you use an external monitor or lower your laptop's resolution. It's honestly a huge waste to get a 4K laptop if you can't stand the tiny UI for Guild Wars 2, and need to lower it to 1920x1080 anyway. And sometimes you can save some cash by choosing a 1080p option instead of the 4K model, so keep that in mind. Also, some have 2x GPU... needless to say, you don't need two high-end GPUs for playing Guild Wars 2.
If money is no object, and you don't need to actually move it much, get one of the $3000+ models. If you were hoping for something closer to $1000-2000, or something that isn't super heavy and huge, my recommendation is to get a laptop with a 1070 GPU. The difference in price is much, much larger than the difference in performance. If you were hoping for something at $1000 or less, go hunt down a laptop with a 980m and high-grade quad core i7 on ebay. Since Guild Wars 2 is going to mostly bottleneck on the processor anyway, you can get a sub-$1000 laptop that performs perfectly this way. People are practically giving away the 980m gaming laptops now that the 1080 is out (it was a pretty big performance bump this refresh, the 1080 was around 20-50% better across various benchmarks). Or you could go for an AMD model... you'll probably have time to decide if you like the way it performs within the return period anyway. However, make sure you get a good 3-4 year warranty, as you'll probably need it.
