You can get a SIM cutter and do it yourself, but be warned, if you mess up you will completely ruin your SIM and it can't be reclaimed.

My Nexus 4 works with a Docomo SIM.

Just get the right cutter for whatever card it takes (micro or nano probably) and cut down your existing SIM card to fit.

So many of the iPhone features use data. Even the voice mail is data based so I would be afraid of what the pay per use data plan would cost.
