I can't personally vouch for these three, but reviews for them seem to be positive: Mumba Protective Case, Kungber Anti-Scratch Back Case Cover, and Ostrich Silicone Back Case.

These release in August and September, so I don't know if you'll be able to grab them before your trip:
Cyber Gadget Console Trigger Grip, Nyko Thin Case, and Nyko Bubble Case.

How important is it that the buttons remain uncovered? Etc.

And I've been using it on my Switch and loving it. However, the Joycons don't fit in the included controller grip. Is there a third party grip that is big enough to use the Joycons with this case on? Maybe one made by Nyko themselves?

Did anyone else pre-order this Nyko thin case from amazon and get something that states it was delayed till October?

I ordered mine 30 June, never saw anything about issues and when I checked to see if it was shipped (released 5 September according to pre-order screens) I noticed it needed some extra approval which was the delay to October and If I wanted to keep that or not.

I am just curious if the delay was on Nyko's end or did amazon screw up

As someone who's owned a Switch since launch, I say the joycon and comfort grip are fine i'll try to put this in sections.

Controller: You can try the pro controller, but in my experience with the two i've bought, I've found that the left stick if you flick it on direction it bounces back the other direction, you may not find this to be an issue right away, but it caused a lot of issues for me when playing Sonic Mania and other games that require quick stick movement.

Cases: If you can get your hand on the Zelda Special Edition case that'd be great, but otherwise [This](https://www.amazon.com/TAKECASE-Nintendo-Switch-Case-Microfiber-Guarantee /dp/B06XYPPJ6M/ref=pd_cp_63_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=RBHQCTFZSKGBBVMX8GZ2) and This seem to be pretty good hefty cases.

Also This protective slim case should serve as nice armor to protect it from scratches.

Games: Personally i'd reccomend, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2 (my fav), Sonic Mania, Mario Kart 8, Snipperclips (if you have someone to play with), these are all games I mostly enjoy, i'd recommend ARMS as well, but i found the game more frustrating than fun.

Screen Protector: This one shall do they're all mostly the same, just different price points and popularity, the on difference between some is tempered glass vs plastic.

I say always go with Tempered glass, unless you prefer the plastic for one reason or another

I have not used it personally, but this Nyko case is the only case I have heard of that fits in the dock. Keep in mind that Nyko does not make official Nintendo accessories, so use at your own risk (I see one review stating that the video out signal is flaky when you use it).

The Nyko thin case sounds about the closest you'll get, but i know it doesn't fit your requirement of one piece:
