> A convection oven costs more, has more internal area (more space to heat) and just seems more wasteful compared to an air fryer.

The saying goes: buy once, cry once. I have this convection oven and would not hesitate to buy an higher end model if I had to buy it again. Yes its not as good as having a dedicated toaster or dedicated air fryer, but it's pretty damn good at being a compact oven replacement that takes only a minute to warm up.

I use it for literally everything that will fit: making toast, baking a single tray of cookies, baking pies, reheating pizza, keeping foods warm or making beef jerky (use 200°F with the door cracked open), very easily making perfectly cooked bacon without splattering grease everywhere, etc...

A Philips Airfryer is $169 on Amazon, my cheapie convection toaster was like $50 and does all those things mentioned above... Just put that air fryer money on getting the high end Breville Convection Toaster. How often do you need to reheat fries or chicken nuggets anyway?

Ok so I did baby led weaning rather than homemade purée, but I think my system would work for you too.

Big batches of something I cooked had half or more frozen flat in either a gallon bag or multiple smaller bags depending on how fast I thought I'd use it up. Other portion I wanted to use fresh went in a large storage container in the fridge.

I have this set of storage bowls, Anchor Hocking Storage Set with Lids, a set of these Libbey Glass Bowl Set with Plastic Lids and one of these ovens Oster Countertop Digital Convection Toaster Oven

So basically food went from the big Tupperware to a smaller bowl that was also what I heated it in (if needed). If there were leftovers in the little bowl, I just stuck a lid on it and used it for the next feeding.
