I have a big Peugeot as well and it goes really well.
But this one from OXO Good Grips is also awesome, never get stuck, grinds the size you want, the opening to put the pepper is very big and it grinds at the top, so you don't have a messy table/counter.

I've been using this one for the past 4 years and like it a lot. A big plus with inverted designs like this OXO and the Ikea grinder posted in this thread is that there is no pepper dust coming out of the bottom.

This one is pricey, but amazing.

I haven't had it long enough to say if it's BIFL, but I'm impressed with my Oxo Good Grips pepper mill. It's built solidly, the size adjustment works very well, it has never jammed and the big bonus is that I can grind one-handed with it. I use this a lot when cooking meat - one hand will have been handling the meat, and the scallops on the twisting (rubber) end let me use it w/o grinding a dish of pepper or constantly washing my hands. I know they sell them at Bed Bath and Beyond, w/ a fill of pepper or salt, if you want to try one.

It isn't the fastest mill, but if it was faster I probably couldn't use it 1-handed.

The OXO pepper mill is pretty good. Easy access refill, pepper comes out of the top so less messy and it has an adjustable granularity for the pepper.

I like the Oxo GoodGrips one. 5 settings, good capacity, good volume, and it stores with the grinder up so you don't leave pepper leavins all over the counter after each use.

I have an Oxo Good Grips pepper grinder, and I find its adjustable sizes to be accurately described on its label. I tried it in the store to confirm that the sizes it ground to were acceptable before I bought it.
