Also spent $150 at the dentist and it did absolutely nothing.
Possibly too late to the party, but 2 rounds of crest whitestrips type product back to back should yield the same results as the fancy 'zoom' whitening you see everywhere here and in N. America. Takes a month to complete (each round is 2 weeks), but if you're looking for 'on the cheap', can't get much cheaper than this.

Other than that, there are plenty of places here in LOS that will do the whole zoom thing for 2.5-3k baht. Fair warning, your teeth will hurt like a motherfucker for about 3 days after, and drinking anything not lukewarm (cold or hot) will be close to unbearable (put a damper on my last few days in Thailand last time I did it here, hence the whitestrip alternative)
