They should get a full-length rear-view mirror.
When I took the road test many years ago, the car I was driving had a giant panoramic rear view mirror, like this. Since I could see everything in the back and side of the car, I didn't do a textbook head check when doing the lane change test. Apparently, this was reason for minus points. Lesson: turn your head.
No way I'll give up my rally mirror. I suggest everyone get one, they're cheap and really increase visibility.
