I hooked one of these OTA Antennas up to my XBOX One w/ the XBOX Licensed Hauppauge USB TV tuner for DVR functions:

I tried a bunch of indoor and outdoor antennas ranging from $20-$150. I'm at the bottom of the hill at Roosevelt Way near 105th NE so the JoeTV signal from the tower was a pain.
In the end I had to go up on my roof and install the Antenna into my brick chimney to get all the channels that play the matches. Ran a COAX cable through a previously installed air vent (made sure to make a drip loop). Wasn't that hard.
The above OTA antenna was the one that got the most channels at my house while looking the least butt-ugly. I didn't even need to use the included amplifier since the cord run was pretty short.
I swear the channels looks less "compressed" than they did when they came in via Comcast.
I found a nice outdoor satellite that was what i wanted.

I just didn't want those crazy massive silver looking alien and antennas.
So my set up is a bit more complex and im still not done. I don't have a clue on how to ground it or anything or what to put where. And I need my antenna to run to every coax cable in the house. Im not sure how u did everything in under an hour
Stick with antenna makers you know to avoid the scammy ones. I got this RCA 800 and installed it high next to the ceiling in our apt. You can put in the attic if you have a house. It's supposed to get 40+ miles.
