I really like it and years ago i made a similar slat based platform bed. The major downside is the mattress slides all over the damn place when doing anything else in bed besides sleeping. I recommend you get some of that anti slip stuff for rugs on hardwood floors. Kinda like this. If it is not stuff with a sticky back and it is the mat stuff, just cut into strips and use some spray adhesive to stick it to each of the slats.
Other than that it looks great, i especially like the headboard. Also Doug Fir is super underrated especially the older growth with tighter grain.
