Rodale's All-New Encyclopedia of Organic Gardening
I really like Rodales New Encyclopedia of Organic Gardening , it's not super in depth, but has bits on tons of different stuff to get you started. I'd maybe just give up on the seedlings at this point, and go for store-bought, but then again I don't have much seed-starting experience. I live in Maine and I just plant my carrots directly into the ground since transplanting them is a pain, and that usually works just fine even with the short season. Good luck, your soil sounds nice, I think you're gonna be fine!
