Our pup's favorite activity is shredding items of varying hardness into smaller chunks - cardboard, old denim, and sticks particularly. We bought him a tree root on recommendation and he loves the thing 6 months later. There are several options online, and as soon as I hear back from my SO I'll edit this for the company we got ours from.
For another idea, I take old pairs of jeans and old t-shirts and cut them into strips that I then tie and braid together. Some get soaked in diluted veggie broth and frozen, some just have treats shoved through the tight braids as a challenge. I wouldn't recommend this if you're not able to trust your pup with cloth items, but ours enjoys taking a piece of denim, chewing it for a few minutes, and spitting it out like a used piece of gum. It's a tug toy when we're together and a chew for times that he's by himself and is a way for us to recycle the rattiest clothing in our house.
