Struggled with this for years. I was burning CDs, which was annoying, but just this week I ordered this cable to power a basic speaker I already owned.

Just arrived, so I haven't yet tested it. I notice the price for the cable has dropped $5 since my purchase.

[Update: the cable did not fit my speaker.]

I kinda wish I'd tried one of these lower tech options first.

Any 12v car adapter should work. The wall plug outputs 12v @ 1250mA.

So something like this one should work.
